12th Edition of the

Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award (MBRCSA)

ARISF is pleased to announce the 12th Edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award (MBRCSA).

Launched in 2008, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Awards (MBRCSA) is one on the entities of the Mohammend Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives. It reflects the thoughts and philosophy of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice-President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The idea behind the Award is to honour Individuals, Teams and Organizations with the significant contributions to the sport’s movement and thus encouraging them to realize yet further creative achievements promoting sports, not only in UAE, Arab countries but also worldwide.

THE WINNER

The 12th Edition of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Creative Sports Award has announced its winners on 22 November 2023 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. An award ceremony was held in Dubai on 10 January 2024.

The International Organisation category of the Award is open to the Summer Olympic International Federations. The theme of this edition is Sports as a universal language and a soft power capable of shaping the future. It is designed to celebrate the best sport projects, programmes and initiatives that have contributed to the empowerment of societies through sports.

All International Federation Members held under the umbrella of ARISF have been invited to submit their entries for the Award before 31 August 2023. Through the Award’s official application platform, the International Federations could present their sport projects, initiatives or programmes that take place between 16 September 2022 and 31 August 2023. Each submission will be evaluated according to the criteria by a group of referees appointed by the Award’s Board of Trustees. The winning International Federation will be presented with the Order of Merit and a financial reward of AED 1,000,000 (approximately USD 272,000) for use in its development activities.

The timeline of the Award is as follows:

› 31 August 2023: Deadline of applications submission

› September – October 2023: Evaluation process for selecting the winner

› 22 November 2023: Announcement of the winner

› 10 January 2024: Awarding Ceremony

Objectives of the Award

› Support and highlight the leading creative efforts of individuals, teams, organizations or corporations in the field of sports, in view of developing and enhancing the sports creativity in all fields and sectors in all levels.

› Encourage athletes and persons working in the field of sports all over the world to achieve creative sports through the provision of adequate moral and material incentives.

› Develop the sportive efforts by supporting the creative initiatives based on scientific grounds to achieve the objectives.

› Shed light on the concept of creativity and innovation in the field of sports, and raise awareness about the importance of sponsoring distinguished creative works and persons.

Categories of the Award

Three main categories, each based on a specific aspect to identify the nature of the accomplishments that are subject to Award competition as follows;

Individual Creative Sports Award

Is granted to players, coaches, referees and administrators who achieve sportive innovations on local, Arab and international level.

Team Creative Sports Award

This Award is granted to sport teams having accomplished sportive innovations on local, Arab and international level.

Corporate Creativity

This award is bestowed upon sports entities having achieved sportive innovations on the local, Arab and international level.

Levels of the Awards

First Level

The competitions take place in the UAE, between creative achievements on the local, regional, Arab, continental, international and Olympic level.

Second Level

The competition includes creative achievements accomplished on the Arab, continental and Olympic level.

Third Level

The competition is exclusively to the achievements of International Sport Federations under the umbrella of the Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF), International Paralympic Committee (IPC), Association of Summer Olympic International Federation (ASOIF), Association of International Olympic Winter Sports Federation (AIOWF) and Association of National Olympic Committee (ANOC) for this year’s entry – “The Best Sports Initiatives in programs or projects in the sports field such as; Tolerance, Knowledge Management, Empowering Communities and Overcoming world challenges as COVID-19 pandemic”.
