ARISF Supports Candidates for WADA Athlete Council Election
Strengthening Athlete Representation
The Association of IOC Recognised International Sports Federations (ARISF) is pleased to announce that eight candidates from ARISF member federations have been officially confirmed for the upcoming World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Athlete Council election. These candidates, representing a diverse range of sports and regions, reflect ARISF’s commitment to ensuring the voices of its members are well-represented in global anti-doping governance.
The election will determine eight Group 2 representatives on WADA’s Athlete Council for the 2025–2027 term. In total, 26 candidates have been nominated by IF Athlete Commissions, with 8 coming from ARISF member federations.
ARISF Member Candidates
Among the 26 candidates for the election, eight are ARISF member federations. Here is a brief introduction to these remarkable athletes:
Agata Plechan (IFF, Floorball, Poland)
As Chair of the IFF Athletes’ Commission, Plechan has significant leadership experience and promotes anti-doping initiatives globally.
Douglas Brose (WKF, Karate, Brazil)
A three-time World Champion in karate and experienced anti-doping advocate, Brose brings decades of leadership and a commitment to ethical sport.
Guillermina Barat (WAKO, Kickboxing, Argentina)
A decorated athlete and sports nutrition specialist, Barat combines her medical expertise and competition experience to champion athlete health and fair play.
Loan Drouard (IWUF, Wushu, France)
A passionate full-time wushu athlete, Drouard prioritises integrity, respect, and fair competition in the global sports community.
Petra Senánszky (CMAS, Underwater Sports, Hungary)
A record-breaking finswimmer and Olympian, Senánszky uses her experience across multiple sports to inspire others and champion integrity.
Randolph Oduber (WBSC, Baseball, Netherlands)
A former professional baseball player turned coach, Oduber advocates for clean sport and the education of future generations.
Sacha Buwalda (FIAS, Sambo, Netherlands)
A multi-time champion in sambo, Buwalda is dedicated to fostering transparency and promoting anti-doping education.
Victor Crouin (WSF, Squash, France)
A World Games Gold Medalist and Harvard graduate, Crouin seeks to amplify athlete voices in emerging Olympic sports.

About the Election
The election for WADA Athlete Council Group 2 members will take place via an online voting platform from 10 to 12 December 2024. Results will be announced by 20 December 2024. Eligible IF Athlete Commissions are encouraged to participate actively in shaping the future of anti-doping governance.
