ARISF Joins IOC Workshop on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (PMC)
For the first time, ARISF participated in the IOC’s Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (PMC) Workshop, strengthening its collaboration with the Olympic Movement Unit on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions (OM Unit PMC).
The workshop, held for the second time following its successful launch in 2023, brought together International Federations whose sports will feature in upcoming Olympic events. These included ARISF Members on the programme of the Olympic Winter Games Milano-Cortina 2026 (ISMF), the Youth Olympic Games Dakar 2026 (IWUF, WBSC, WKF), and the Olympic Games Los Angeles 2028 (ICC, IFAF, WB, WBSC, WL, WSF).
The meeting focused on the three pillars of the OM Unit PMC’s strategy: regulation and legislation, awareness-raising and capacity-building, and intelligence and investigations. Special attention was given to involving National Federations and enhancing education initiatives aimed at preventing unethical conduct across the sports ecosystem.
Participants contributed actively to the discussion, sharing practical approaches to strengthen cooperation with National Federations and co-develop tools to protect athletes, coaches and officials in the lead-up to Milano-Cortina 2026 and Dakar 2026.
Three new IOC guidelines were presented to support the implementation of key integrity-related activities:
- Guidelines on the Implementation of the Olympic Movement Code on the Prevention of the Manipulation of Competitions
- Guidelines for Awareness-Raising Activities
- Guidelines on the Sanctioning of Competition Manipulation
ARISF’s presence reflects its growing engagement in the field of sports integrity, as part of its broader commitment to support its Members and to contribute to collective efforts across the Olympic Movement. The Association welcomes this collaborative approach and remains dedicated to working closely with the OM Unit PMC and relevant partners to uphold integrity and good governance in sport.
